by Jason Smith Scale: 1/72Police forces across the galaxy use a wide variety of spacecrafts. This was one of the most popular designs of police enforcement crafts produced by MandalMotors. It's basic design made it usable and customizable for many law enforcement agencies. These ships were most often custom painted in the factory to the needed jurisdictional color schemes of the sector's force. This show version of the Pursuer-class demonstrates the basic metallic super structure. While most were delivered painted, MandalMotors occasionally sold in the bare version to private security forces. Boba Fett would one day own a Pursuer-class named Slave II. This model was inspired from the drawings of Boba Fett’s Slave II. In planning this model I looked extensively at the drawing and illustrations in the original Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels as well as the Dark Horse: Dark Empire graphic novel. The ship is constructed entirely of sheet styrene. The accents and bits of styrene rods and such as well as a bit of pilfering from the greeblies box for the gear well areas. A couple of toothpaste caps worked perfectly for the engines. |

The model was originally
constructed some time ago, but was overhauled for this contest. I added
small bits of detail, and constructed a new entry door.
When it came to finishing the kit I wasn't sure what color to paint it and I didn't want to give it the worn scarred look that Slave II most likely had. Instead I decided to go with a showroom look. The kit was painted using Testor's stainless steel metallizer and accented it with Tamiya acrylics Image: New door Image: Front view Image: Port side Image: Top view |
