The paper model was designed by "Gearz" and can be download either at his own Homeworld paper models site or at the main Paper Starships site. A clever feature of the model is that it can be built as either the standard Assault Frigate with four gun turrets and twin forward plasma bomb launchers or as the Ion Cannon Frigate with a single Ion Beam Array.

The model was printed on a 120g weight matte white coated paper using an Epson Photo 830 printer set to maximum quality. Once built, the model was cleaned up using artists water colour pencils to remove the more obvious fold lines and then given a few coats of an acrylic varnish spray. The smaller versions were made by manipulating the JPEG files to produce a model about 9cm long whereas the larger model is over 15cm in length. By manipulating the 2D paper templates in either JPEG or .PDO file format, its possible to build a "fleet" roughly in scale ... although there is a lot of conflicting opinion as to just how large the Homeworld ships really are.
