This is a rather old mixed media model (resin, brass, white metal) of the famous DISCOVERY. It was made by Comet Miniatures. I built it nearly 20 years ago. The model is approx. 30 cm long.

At the moment I`m re-organizing my living room showcase, and as a result of this I treat the one or other model to a new base. In this case I made one from cardboard, showing the planet Jupiter and the lines "2001: A Space Odyssey“ and "U.S.S. Discovery“. Because of the interesting center of gravity of the small model I was able to support it only in the middle and at the engine section. This adds a nice effect of zero-G environment.
