Filling the necessary gap for a frigate version of the Sovereign-class supercruiser is the USS Pennant. Following in the design lineage of the Miranda and Nebula-class frigates, the Pennant-class is armed more extensively and designed to take more of a beating. The ship’s design employs far stronger transporter fields, multiple photon torpedo launchers and phaser emitters, a more streamlined cross-section and a massive rear pulse cannon emitter, capable of disrupting a pursuing vessel’s warp field. The Pennant and her class entered service as the Dominion war began. The Pennant is more Enterprise 3-set parts being interchanged. Her secondary hull is the Enterprise-B’s hull backwards and the Sovereign-class’ secondary hull (the warp nacelle struts and the rear hull) flipped upside down.
