Omega Class Destroyer |

This is the Warp Miniatures Omega-class destroyer "Agamemnon" from the TV series Babylon 5. This was another commisioned peice. I had never watched the show. As such, I relied on the other Omega's submitted by fellow modelers here on Starship Modeler for paint scheme. It is a well- engineered kit, comprised of over 200 resin and metal parts; each of which has to be meticulously worked with a file. Air bubbles were minimal. The model is built in 4 sections, each of which is mounted on a brass tube running the length of the completed model (about 16 inches.) This allows the central section to fully rotate. Decals for several other ship names are also provided. My only complaint is that the instructions were vague on the placement of some parts. I found myself having to remove a re-position pieces a couple of times. Some actual pictures of the completed model would have been a beneficial addition to the instructions. Again, I refered to my fellow modelers here in the gallery for guidance. Weathering was acomplished with preshading, drybrusing and pastels. Image: Starboard side high Image: Port side |
