Along with the Valdore, one of the newest designs in the Romulan Fleet is the V'shar class escorts/scouts. Built as an equivalent to the Federation's Defiant class starships, these relatively small vessels (by Romulan standards) could easily outrun and out-manoeuvre any ship of a similar size produced by the other major powers, including the Jem'Hadar attack ships. Not long after their introduction the Federation unofficially classified this ship as the Romulan Interceptor, due to their impressive speed and ability to run down almost any enemy.

After watching the new Battlestar Galactica, something about the Cylon Raiders made me think "that would look cool as a Romulan design." It was a pretty simple design. I patterned the wings on those of the Cylon, making mine slightly wider, then built the main hull as a longer version of the command section I had built for the Romulan Freighter. I added some spare parts to either side of the hull for detail and then built a set of engines that where of a similar shape to those of the Valdore's. To give the engines a more interesting look, I first painted them with matt white, then a layer of clear green. to add detail, I painted a basic pattern on them using the main hull colour... and voila, another model to add to my over crowded shelves!
