Republic Star Destroyer

By David Rowbotham

After viewing the site for several months, I finally received a model of the Revell 'Republic Star Destroyer' for Christmas. It has been a long while since I made models of any description, all my previous modeling experience was normally with Warhammer miniatures.

The kit is straight out of the box and went together well, I used milliput to plug a few gaps around the central trench but other than that, fine. I undercoated it using auto matt white spray but wanted an 'aged' appearance rather than straight of the production line; not having an air brush I hand painted the whole thing using my old citadel acrilylics, which took quite a few hours. Apart from the 'disk' decals , the red stipes are also hand painted the supplied ones didn't seem thick enough, compared to ships seen in episode III. Overall I'm fairly happy with how it ended up, I've now got a Falcon to get to grips with.
