Clavius Moonbus Hangar

By Chris Hewes

This is a model of a fictional hanger-maintenance bay for Moonbus operations at the Clavius Moonbase. The materials consisted of a showcase box and some car lighting leds I found at an autoparts store on sale. The Aurora Moonbus models were replacements for a model I had built in the past and posted that was lost in Hurricaine Katrina.

The bus on the right with gullwings and the funky roof are the remains of that previously posted moonbus model that I found in the wreckage of my home sans roof. I had to whip one up out of sheet styrene, and some sculpy castings for details from the replacement model on the right. Considering the Katrina Bus had been buried under silt for about a year prior to my finding it I think it held up well. I was really happy to find it considering the age of the model and knowing the fellow who built it back in the 60's as a kid. This was the only model I could find after the storm.
