Crashed Daedalus

By Steve Gardner

This is a 1/350th scale diorama of a crashed Daedalus class starship being investigated by a 23rd century crew. The rocks are made from some clay that I had let go hard - and were built up around the main hull - the 'sphere' with it's mangled hull made from tin-foil. The main hull is a mutilated gerbil exercise ball with the holes filled in! The secondary hull and warp engines are simply cardboard tubes of different sizes - I made a basic interior for the secondary hull out of card and small bottles and built a basic skeleton of tin-foil around it. The tiny 1/350th crew are resin generic figures by L'Arsnel along with the 1/350th shuttle craft from the PL refit kit. The whole thing was then dirtied down with flame and paint then given a sprinkling of Vietnam diorama dirt powder for that Martian planet look.
