This is a Fine Molds TIE Fighter that was finished in 12 hours of building for our local club's 12 hour challenge build in Feb 2006. I added some battle damage using a soldering iron heat source and a rotary grinder. Paint was Tamiya Light Gray sprayed through my airbrush. The solar panels are Tamiya Semi-Gloss Black straight from the can and the stand is Tamiya semi-gloss black through an airbrush (gives a nice satin finish) A black enamel wash brought out the wonderful detail in the kit. I used the Starship Modeller kit for masking the viewport and hatch. The pilot is a 1/72 scale fighter pilot because I lost mine somewhere along the way.
