AT-ST

By Antonio Díaz

I´m a modelmaker who works with thin aluminium plate. For many years I have made my Star Wars models with this material. The techniques for this kind of modeliing are very similar to what scratchbuilders who work on styrene sheets do. I have to make plans and then layers. But I must make relief into the metal, all handmade. I have made many Star Wars models like: X-Wing, Jedi Star Fighter, Y-Wing, Escape Pod, Tydirium Shuttle, Slave I, Snow Speeder, AT-ST, Republic Gunship, and finally the great Millennium Falcon. Here are my AT-STs. These took about 4-5 months to complete. When I work on a model, I always built 2 or more models at the same time, that because it´s easier than just one at time.
