The Hyperspace Marauder is a Xiytiar class freight hauler owned by smuggler Lo Khan and his cyborg partner Luwingo. Too large and slow to escape most pursuers, the Marauder relies on its advanced computer systems to attack potential boarding ships from within.

I first saw this ship in the book "Star Wars: The Essential Guide to Vehicles and Vessels". After reading the graphic novels "Dark Empire" and "Dark Empire II" I wanted to build one.

I started with a mockup about 3 inches long to get the basic proportions right, then I built the 19.5 inch long, 1:350 scale model using sheet styrene for the simple curved sections, and epoxy putty for the complex curves.

The basic paint color is from a Walmart spray can. I think it was called "English Biscuit". I used decals and some paint to change the color of some panels, and gave the whole thing a dark wash and some light drybrushing.
