Rescued from the junk pile and lovingly restored - with a little
extra zip - more power, the USS Binford now spends her days traveling
from one Starfleet function to another for the higher-ups to admire.
This classic Connie was found behind a space barn, and rescued from
complete deterioration by Captain Tim. He and his trusty Chief
Engineer Al, scoured the scrap yards looking for all original
equipment, and spent every moment they could working on her, when not
attending to their normal Starfleet duties. While keeping to those
classic exterior lines everyone loves, the innerards of this beaut
are pure 24 century, bringing the performance level up to standards,
and then some. In short, this baby's got legs!
Not a flight goes by without a little trouble though:
"More power, Engineer Al!"
"I don't think so, Captain Tim."

The model is Polar Lights' 1/1000 Enterprise, pretty much built out
of the box with the exception of the pylons. The tops of a second set
were chopped and mounted to the inside, placed so that the second set
of nacelles ride a little higher to clear the saucer. The name and
numbers are custom decals by JTGraphics. The paint is over-all Ford
Tractor Light Grey, with the darker grey being Canadian Tire primer,
and a little Krylon Pewter Grey as well. The deflector dish and hull
housing are Liquid Leaf (Copper). Everything was then shot with a top
coat of Future. The saucer, secondary hull, and nacelles were
completed separately before final assembly.
