This kit is based off the anime series Genesis Climber Mospeada, or better known in the United States as the Alpha and Beta fighter from Robotech New Generation. I always wanted to try modifying a Soldier, with open missile ports, and mated to a Tread. The Soldier took some time to modify. I used the extra missile packs that came with the 1/72 fighters and the soldiers. I used .030" (0.75 mm) sheet styrene for the missile hatch covers and to build up around the missile themselves to hide the thickness of the pieces. Two holes where drilled into the extension and the bottom piece of the soldier. The pieces are pinned together by a paper clip trimmed to 3/16". Painting was fairly straightforward with only a few main colors. The colors used where Model Master Enamel (MME) Grabber Blue, MME Insignia White, and MME Gun Metal. A few other MME, PollyS, and Tamiya colors were used as well. The whole model was sealed with Future Floor Finish.
