The first walker to be produced in the US and then offered to the British for
Lend-Lease, the M11 was favored amongst its pilots.
The M11 was originally open-topped allowing its crew a good field of vision.
Later variants, like this A3 would include a turret with an M6 and then M38
cannon.
Because of its light armor and German artillery, it was mostly relegated as a
scouting unit.
The M11A miniature from DreamPod 9 comes in 3 main parts and additional parts to make an A1
(open topped) A2, or A3 variants. All pieces were cast in white metal.
I chose the A3 with the bigger M48 barrel, a .30 cal machine gun on its right
mount, and a grenade launcher on its left.
The miniature was washed in soapy water and then primed with Black Armoury
Spray Primer. I painted the miniature before assembling it. The miniature was painted with
Vallejo Model Hobby Acrylics Violet Brown for the base color. And then washed
and highlighted with varying shades of Violet Brown mixed with Black or Skull
White. All decals came with the miniature.
I wanted it in a running pose, so I pinned the right leg back and the main body
and .30 cal leaning forward. I used Zap a Gap to assemble it and paper clips
for the pins on all joints.
The base is a basic 40mm round plastic base covered with PVA glue, lichen, and
sand.
