Giant Spider Invasion!

[Thanks and Hail! Zog]

Sponsored in part by Clyde 'Zog' Jones. Thanks!

Scale: Not stated

Based on the B grade Giant Insect film from 1977, comes my interpretation of the scene where the giant spider chases terrified townspeople across a farm, “See Horror, See Terror”, see ” The Giant Spider Invasion” !

The spider is from the “Harry Potter” Aragog play set, I removed the child safe crossed over fangs and added lethal epoxy fangs. I didn’t repaint it, or remove the ‘hidden’ action, just highlighted the fangs and face darkened.

The panicked people are from several ‘Gigantics” models, and some are Space 1999 Moonbase Alpha personnel from the Moonbase model. I tried to paint them, so they looked varied in colours, but wondered why I was after a while, since they are very small.

The wooden base is covered in railway grass and trees from moss, the farm fence from wooden skewers.

I’m happy with the look, as it’s a good version of the photo I was looking at, though the spider is bigger. I hope you like the ‘black and white’ version, my homage to the giant insect films of days gone by!
