Fury's Hammer

by Jason Smith

Scale: ~1/72

Fury's Hammer was not built from a modified YT-1300 freighter, but custom built from the ground up. Most of it's internal space is taken up with the engines and weaponry. The Hammer has amazing manuverability for a ship it's size. It boasts two heavy triple laser cannons, as well as a trio of high-yield proton torpedo launchers. It's most powerful weapon is a capital scale turbolaser replacing the area of the port side docking ring. These coupled with a highly advanced (and illegal) sensor array and 0.75 hyperdrive make is one of the most lethal ships out there.

This model has a self-contained fiber optic lighting system, which unfortunatly doesn't show in the pictures. I took great time and care in modifing the AMT Millennium Falcon kit. This entire project took me 4 years of working on it on and off and waiting for parts. The top and bottom, landing gear, and one docking ring were used from the original kit. The sidewalls are from Falcon Kits. The rest of the model and detail parts are all from scratch or various greeblies. The model features scratchbuilt and detail interior areas as well including; Cockpit, gunwells, and entrance ramp complete with curving corridor at the top of the ramp. There is even a heavy laser cannon mounted on the ceiling above this corridor. The torpedo tubes, sensor array, and triple guns were all constructed of styrene and brass tubes. The model was finished using acrylic paints and weathered using pastels and various washes.
