Scale: ~1/72
The model started as two separate kits: the Cut-a-way Special Edition and the second being the original Return of the Jedi Edition.
The interior features consist of a lighting system, which was removed from a camping lantern. It supplies illumination for the fiber optics for the interior computer consoles, cockpit lights, and ground clearance markers. The engine lights are supplied by a 6” florescent light supplied from the same lantern witch runs on a 12V power supply. The underside work lights are grain of wheat light bulbs supplied with 1 ½ Volts.
The upper hull was used from the original issue model; an opening was cut out to view the interior details that were taken from the cut-a-way special edition kit.
The model is depicted as it was seen in the Empire Strikes back with the addition of the two front landing gear bays.
Over One hundred additional detail pieces were added to the exterior of the ship. Base guitar strings were used to simulate the hydraulic cables for the landing gear.
The model was painted with Testors flat white and weathering detail was accomplished with use of various acrylic washes and pastel highlights. The scale of this model is approximately 1/72nd.
