This is the Nebulon-B Medical Frigate. It is the standard 12 cm long model by Scale Solutions, though this one was specially cast in clear resin with blue LED's and there wiring imbedded in the resin. The model is one piece requiring no assembly, some sanding was required along the join line on the model but no puttying. The model was given several coats of silver to help the light bounce around inside and then several coats of black until no light was bleeding through, then painted white and various details were picked out in red, sand, green and various shades of grey. The locations of the widows were then scratched through the paint before a final wash of black ink was applied to dirty the ship up and emphasise the detail. The model was then mounted on a black lacquered wooden base which has the batteries located inside, and a Perspex case was made up to keep the dust off.
