Death Star Laser Tower

by Wolfgang Bitterman

Scale: small (micro machines)

Yes I know you have seen something like this before! This little model is a homage to what Tony did. As I saw Tony Agustin`s diorama elsewhere on Starship Modeler I was very impressed and decided to build something similar. The Laser Tower has a different shape and the model is much smaller than Tony`s.

The Laser Tower was scratchbuilt from 1mm plastic sheet and lots of small greeblies from my spare part box. It is about 90mm high and it is available as a resin kit from Triliance. The base color is a mix of greys. With a wash with thinned flat black and a drybrush all these fine details came out very well. The laser tips are painted flat black and drybrushed with white.

The four X-Wings are micro machines. I rebuilt the lasers and the air-intakes. After that I airbrushed the X-wings white so all markings disappeared. The new markings were cut from old decal sheets. I applied a few more decals to get different looks to the fighters.
