From the comic book version of MARS ATTACKS, this is the 'Martian Emporer' I got the bust off E-bay about a year ago and am uncertain about its history. Its solid resin and about eight inches tall. It has no company logo, but is signed with an 'A' superimposed over a 'J' with the date '96 next to it.

As this was a one-piece bust, there was not much construction! I did have to correct a modest step in the mold seam, but the mustard-colored resin sanded easily. I then applied a layer of Amoury Black primer overall, then masked the lower half of the figure with saran wrap, sprayed the brain lightly with Armory grey, and finished this process by masking all but the face and spraying it with Armoury White. I allowed this to cure a day, then proceeded with brushes and Vallejo acylics. I first did a black wash on the face, and applied most of the remaining detail by dry brushing.

Total time on this was about five hours.
